PITMAN, NJ – Becoming certified just got easier for nurses and technicians who care for nephrology patients. To help these professionals prepare for an exam and reach their goals, the Nephrology Nursing Certification Commission (NNCC) has developed a free Examination Preparation Booklet for each of the six nephrology credentials it offers.
The prep booklets are PDF documents and can be downloaded at nncc-exam.org by selecting a specific credential and choosing “Exam Preparation.”
“The exam preparation booklets have everything practitioners need to know in one concise publication, and they are available to everyone at no charge,” said NNCC Executive Director Nancy Gallagher, BSN, RN, CNN. “Each booklet also has 30 practice questions written by the NNCC Test Committee Item Writers, the same experts who write the actual exam questions. Using the booklets will help practitioners go into the exam strong and confident.”
In addition to the practice questions, each prep booklet contains detailed information about NNCC, the exam development process, FAQs, preparation tips, resources, NNCC policies, and exam content. The last few pages of each booklet contain the answers to the practice questions with rationales and references.
The booklets for each of the six NNCC certifications are:
- The Certified Dialysis Nurse examination
- The Certified Dialysis LPN/LVN examination
- The Certified Nephrology Nurse examination
- The Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician
- The Certified Clinical Hemodialysis Technician - Advanced
- The Certified Nephrology Nurse - Nurse Practitioner
NNCC also offers a variety of scholarships and grants to help certified nurses and technicians advance their nephrology careers.
NNCC, which is headquartered in Pitman, NJ, is a national, independent organization that collaborates with the Center for Nursing Education and Testing (C-NET) in developing, administering and evaluating certification tests.
